NC State begins construction of new art plaza on Centennial Campus
Centennial Campus is now officially home toReds and Whites, a public art display by world-renowned artist Larry Bell. The piece, commissioned by the Centennial Campus Public Art Committee, was recently installed at the bottom of The Oval, adjacent to Hunt Library. Construction on the surrounding plaza is expected to be complete later this fall.

It consists of large, sculptural glass cubes and triangles and will be surrounded by a plaza with seating and trees. The work itself combines design and engineering to give visitors a dynamic visual experience.
“We’re thrilled to bring this amazing work of art to Centennial Campus,” said Susan Woodson, wife of Chancellor Randy Woodson and a member of the Centennial Campus Public Art Committee. “The things that are happening on Centennial Campus – and across all of the university – have worldwide significance. This piece is meant to represent that global impact and bring people together.”
