2023 Chancellor’s Fall Address
On Oct. 23, Chancellor Woodson will reflect on the last year at NC State, look to the future — and welcome an out-of-this-world guest for a live edition of Red Chair Chats.
On Monday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m., Chancellor Randy Woodson will deliver his annual fall address to the NC State community from Stewart Theatre in Talley Student Union. The entire campus community is invited, thoughseating is limited and must be reserved. If you can’t make it in person, the address will also bestreamed online.
This year’s “state of NC State” speech will recap high-level achievements from the past year and look to the university’s future. It will also feature the first-everliveepisode ofRed Chair Chats, the chancellor’s interview series with prominent alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the university.
The chancellor’s guest at the fall address will beChristina Koch, NASA astronaut and three-time graduate of NC State. Koch, who grew up in Jacksonville, NC, earned bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and physics in 2001 and her master’s in electrical engineering in 2002. She also received an honorary Ph.D. from NC State in 2020.
Koch holds the record for the longest space mission by a woman (328 days), took part in the first all-female spacewalk and is currently preparing to venture around the moon as part of NASA’s Artemis II mission.
Limited walk-in overflow seating will be available in the Talley Ballroom. Light refreshments — including Howling Cow ice cream — will be served following the address.
