Five Win National Advising Awards

Five NC State faculty and staff members will be recognized with advising awards at a national conference.

The National Academic Advising Association, which represents more than 10,000 members, will present the following awards in Denver in October.

  • Jim Alchediak, lecturer and producer in the Department of Communication, will receive a certificate of merit for outstanding achievement in faculty academic advising.
  • Kimberly Franklin, academic adviser for First Year College, will receive an Outstanding New Advisor Award for academic advising as a primary role.
  • Jackie Hoffman, assistant professor of poultry science, will receive an Outstanding New Advisor Award for faculty academic advising.
  • Roxanna McGraw, director of the Office of Advising and Student Services, will receive an Outstanding Advising Award as an academic advising administrator.
  • Sandy Stallings, communication lecturer and assistant head for advising, will receive a certificate of merit for academic advising as a primary role.
