Summer Parking Fun Has Begun

As of Monday, service to the Carter-Finley Park and Ride lot has been halted for the summer and the Varsity Parking lot will operate as a free Park and Ride lot.

Those are among the many changes NCSU Transportation will implement now that most students have left following the spring semester.

Others include:

  • Beginning Friday, May 6, through Tuesday, Aug. 16, any vehicle with a valid parking permit may park in student parking areas (RC, RE, RP, RW, RS) and university-owned parking decks other than the Pouton Deck and Oval West Deck on Centennial Campus. If unsure of where to park, call Transportation at919-515-3424or checkTransportation’s website.
  • The Dan Allen gates are always raised during student break times. They will be raised during the break between spring and summer semester: May 6 until May 15, July 2 through July 4, and Aug. 1–15. Gates may also be raised to accommodate events on campus.
  • Anyone who needs a parking permit for the summer can now purchase them at the Transportation office at 2721 Sullivan Drive on weekdays from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. The cost of the summer permit is $80 and allows parking in all student areas.
  • Summer construction has begun around campus, causing some impacts to traffic, as identified onthis campus map. For more information, contact Greg Cain,gecain@ncsu.eduor (919) 515-1603, or David Gregory atdwgrego2@ncsu.edu或(919)515 - 1605。
  • Please note the change in traffic pattern related to the Harrelson Hall demolition is currently scheduled to begin on May 9. During this project, there will be no exit to Yarbrough Drive via the Stinson Drive Extension. All Stinson Drive traffic will exit via Broughton Drive to Hillsborough Street.

  1. I was wondering what is the parking situation between Aug 1- Aug 16. I was parking at varsity lot but the busses stopped running (or not showing up on the rider app). Does that mean I can park anywhere ?

  2. I will be a new student beginning on June 23 in the MAC graduate program. I do not have my car information as I will be purchasing a new car when I arrive in NC.
Can I purchase a parking pass without knowing any of my exact car information?

    1. Hey Zach, I don’t know if anyone has replied to you yet but I’m a student at NCSU and from what I know you should still be able to buy a permit. If they require you to input your car information then put in the info of your old car or one that you will be coming here with and then when you get your new car just update the information on your profile and delete the information of the old car. If I’m not mistaken I believe you’re allowed to assign up to 2 cars on one permit anyways. Hope this helps!
