Dr. Tracey Dawson-Cruz of Virginia Commonwealth University, the first of four keynote speakers, will present a session on advancing forensic human DNA analysis at 9:15 a.m. Dr. Jason Byrd will speak on forensic evidence analysis and disaster preparedness at 10:30 a.m. At 11:15 Dr. Nelson Vinueza-Benitez, postdoctoral fellow at Purdue University, will discuss advances in forensic analytical chemistry using mass spectrometry. Dr. Geoffrey Stewart Morrison of the University of New South Wales, Australia, will introduce the likelihood ratio framework for analyzing forensic evidence at 1:30 p.m. All four speakers will take part in a panel discussion on the future of forensic science research and academics at 2:30 p.m.
